Alicia Song
STEM Teacher

  • "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever" -Mahatma Gandhi
"My name is Alicia Song, I have been a teacher for 23 years. I enjoy working with the Latino community in the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago. I'm a bilingual teacher born in Mexico. I came as an immigrant when I was 15 years old. One  of my most important task as a teacher is to inspire my students to think in new ways. I believe a classroom is any place were opportunities for learning are constructed by the teacher. As educators, we have the ability to empower students to be thinkers and  problem solvers. I'm the proud mom of a son and a daughter.  During the summer I enjoyed gardening and walking close to nature.
I have a bachelor's degree from University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master's Degree in School Leadership from Concordia University."
